Dr. Stewart Announces his Retirement on 12/31/2016

After over 40 years in Medicine, Dr. Stewart retired at the end of 2016.  He is spending more time with his family, doing more travelling, and pursuing the hobbies and passions he put aside years ago to devote his life to medicine.

Read Dr. Stewart's letter describing this.

Who Should Our Patients See when he Retires?

The practice of medicine has changed greatly over the last 40 years, and there are very few independent practices left in the area.  We will encourage most of our patients to choose a hospital system they are comfortable with, and then select a physician associated with that hospital system.  There are a few "Concierge" or "Direct Primary Care" practices available for patients who value, and can afford, the less hurried one-on-one style of care Dr. Stewart has offered. An internet search on "Direct Primary Care" would give you the most up-to-date list.

About Dr. Stewart

Doctor Don Stewart is a Northwest native who grew up in Seattle and Bellevue, and attended Newport High School, the University of Washington as an undergraduate, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He did his residency in Family Practice at the Swedish Hospital Medical Center, and founded Pine Lake Family Medicine on the Pine Lake Plateau in 1983. Pine Lake Family Medicine was purchased by Swedish Physicians in 2003, and renamed Swedish Physicians Pine Lake. Dr. Stewart served as the Medical Director of Swedish Physicians Pine Lake until 2007, when he left to open the Sammamish Diabetes and Lipid Clinic, to focus on the care of patients with these problems.   More About Dr. Stewart
